A mission by the Perenco Foundation took place in Cameroon in the presence of its chairperson, Nathalie Samani. The aim was to meet entrepreneurs who were already receiving support or would soon be receiving support, such as Isotech in Douala, a shining example of our commitment to social and environmental innovation.
Isotech is a recycling company that manufactures plastic bags from recycled plastic collected in neighbouring districts. Through its activities, it energises the collection network and promotes sanitation in the city’s neighbourhoods.
During this visit, we learned about the entire production process, from recycling plastic bags to cutting and rolling them by hand.
The ambitious project proposed by this entrepreneur aims not only to reduce plastic waste, but also to create local jobs.
This initiative is crucial for promoting local production, creating jobs within Isotech and generating incomes. It focuses on improving the collection network, cleaning up neighbourhoods affected by plastic pollution and raising community awareness of surrounding issues.
In the long term, the Perenco Foundation’s objective is to support the acceleration of production through the acquisition of machinery and the creation of new jobs, industrialising these initiatives that contribute to local growth and the empowerment of beneficiaries.
