Recoplast recently presented its first desk made from recycled plastic at a conference in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo.

This project, praised by local authorities, highlights the benefits of the circular economy: cleaning up the environment, preserving forests, creating sustainable jobs and ensuring the long-term viability of activities.

The Perenco Foundation is proud to have supported this initiative by covering the cost of transporting Recoplast’s machinery from India to the Democratic Republic of Congo. These machines can now be used to recycle all types of plastic waste to manufacture items such as school furniture.

Following the official presentation of the project, 43 desks were ordered. They will soon be installed in schools and will also help raise children’s awareness of the importance of preserving their environment.
