Walter Djatsa is the founder of Isoplast, a Cameroonian company specialising in transforming plastic waste into locally produced recycled bin bags. Committed to the circular economy, he created his own brand, Sara, which meets market needs whilst helping to protect the environment. Over the past four years, his company has recycled more than 400 tonnes of plastic waste.
Supported by the Perenco Foundation since 2024, Walter has received strategic and marketing support to structure his enterprise and optimise his business model, followed by a bank guarantee enabling him to secure a long-term loan at a preferential rate to expand his factory and order machinery to triple his production and recycling capacity from 120 to 360 tonnes per year.
Isoplast has already created 60 direct jobs and will soon be recruiting a further 40 employees. From the waste collection side, around 100 indirect jobs depend on this activity.
On 5 June, Isoplast’s new facilities were officially inaugurated in the presence of local authorities, numerous partners, the President, the General Manager and the local representative of the Perenco Foundation.
This ceremony marks an important milestone in the company’s journey and illustrates how far the entrepreneur has come since he first received support from the Foundation. We are very proud to be supporting Walter and would like to wish him and his team every success.
